If u went to The Lil Flea which was at Bandra on the 4th and 5th of October, you would have seen some really cool things and bought some neat things as well. We happened to go with friends, family and our wonderful Via (pet dog). As we didn’t go with anything in our mind, it was great fun to just see what met our eyes. This place was hit with groups of friends spending time together while shopping, couples, families, mother’s with their daughter’s, fashionistas and many more. Quite a few had their ‘wish list’ as they kept moving from one stall to the other picking up things as per their list and choice.
There was something for everyone at The Lil Flea like live bands, Poi Performances and Live art by 7 artists. On the first day, there was a one-of-a-kind ‘Dog Tea Party’ which was pretty much the stealer amongst the other small activities that happened there. It was a nice opportunity to catch demonstrations by a master chef and lil chef. You could spend the entire day browsing through or making a buy from the different vendor’s, whilst grabbing a quick bite or you could be sipping on some juice from one of the snacks-selling vendors. The different mix of food which included street food was quite impressive as they had some unique dishes that were inspired by the Mexican, Chinese and Indian cuisines. We went through each vendor’s stall which took almost half a day and found that the vendors were from different parts of Mumbai as well as India that had pretty good steals. There was a lot of color around the stalls which made the place look vibrant and had so much to offer along with giving everyone a decent glance into an artist’s craftsmanship as there were quite a few of them who were painting and working on their craft. Some of the interesting products were ‘Just fold and stick’ items, funky headgears, classy leather satchels, handcrafted body luxuries, sea – themed crockery and the list goes on. Few of the quick observations we made were that there were quite a few vendor’s that have recently opened their set-up’s (with no websites) and some of them continue to operate from their homes. Such a place offered such vendor’s, a great platform which showcased their goodies at minimum investment. All in all, if you stopped by, you would have had a real good time out by just being around a fusion of things and an interesting set of people.
