It’s that time of the year again, when everyone preps up for the Festival Of Lights, also commonly referred to as Deepavali. Together with the exchange of sweets (mithai), gifts exchanged between family and friends, Diwali also highlights a huge shopping period. Everyone’s gearing up for this very colorful festival by deeply engaging in shopping for a house/wardrobe makeover (Well, the feminine population at least!) or maybe some are extracting the fancy china that was tucked away, only to be pulled out during special occasions.
Amongst the arrays of stores and shopping malls offering huge discounts in the spirit of Deepavali, I recently found myself attending Glitterati Co’s event, Happy Shopper’s Market, which was held on the 18th of October 2014. As soon as you enter the market, you’re set in the jovial mood from in-taking the cool vibe and taking in sweet glances from all the unique collections on display. I came across many talented and creative local artisans, antique dealers, vintage item vendors, luxurious bath and body supplies, a few snack outlets, arrays of girly and fun bags, jewelry and cute outfits. Apart from the enthusiastic vendors and the hodge-podge of unique collections on display in an exclusive manner, the next best thing about the market was the liveliness of it. There were countless items on display like gourmet treats, vibrantly colored outfits & accessories. There was something for every budget and flavor, all under one roof! There was an excellent collection hybridized with a tasteful deck up. It was difficult not to get lost in all the pretty coalesce of products & quality. There was a delightful assortment of pickles, sophisticated wines, stimulating paintings, exceptional collection of luxurious bath & body products, bathing soaps that took after lip-smacking, gorgeous cupcakes!, heavily detailed & studded phone covers, jewelry, coasters, pretty & sweet scented candles which looked warm against the neat backdrops of the stalls, bags, antique collections which looked like they slid right out of Once Upon A Time (The TV Show). The fact that you could totally request the vendor’s to craft a personalized product ( may it be a purse/outfit/product/perfume) for yourself, was pretty impressive.
In a nutshell, the market’s quintessence was fused with an essence of Sugar, Spice & Everything Nice! Happy Shopper’s Market truly lived up to its name, spreading bliss and happiness amongst their enthusiastic shoppers.
